About Me
My stage name is Equador The Wizard, though
my real name is actually Equador Zaha.
One of my earliest memories is boogying in my front room after play school. I loved performing right from the
word go and used to jump at the chance to show anyone my latest moves. 20-odd years later and nothing much has
changed……
I trained intensively in ballet, drama, musical theatre, tap, contemporary, jazz and many more styles for 15
years. I gained the highest grade possible after completing a B-tech national diploma in Performing Arts and was
awarded a £30,000 scholarship to the best contemporary dance school in Europe.
I’ve performed close-up magic for many household names such as BT, British Gas, Russell Brand, Jonathon Ross,
Rolf Harris, to name just a few.
I won best new UK male of burlesque (' boylesque') 2009 from the London burlesque festival.
I’m even spending the summer months performing boylesque and close-up magic in the most exclusive club in St
Tropez, France.
I absolutely love what I do, even now after years of being a professional performer I still pinch myself to make
sure it is all real. I’m living my dreams, and my passion for performance still comes pouring through in every show
I do, whether it be performing close-up magic in somebody’s garden to performing on stage in front of over a 1000
people. I simply love my job!
